The Snook bite has continued to remain strong with most of my trips catching around 20+ Snook. Most of the Snook are in 2 ft - 3 ft of water on or near sandy holes on the grass flats. This week we saw a persistent NE wind all week. During the beginning of the week we saw gust up to 30 knots and towards the end of the week we saw NE winds at 15-20 knots which allowed us to get out and do some fishing. This week has been just that, steady. We are between moon cycles and saw moderate tidal movement in combination with most fishing trips this week falling on the outgoing tide which has made fishing slow and steady. We managed to catch plenty of fish this week, just at times we had to wait for the fish to turn on. The bite has been stronger..
We are into the third week of the same weather pattern, west winds and rain! Even though the weather has not been cooperating as much as we would like, we are still getting in trips on most days. The Mangrove Snapper and Trout bite continue to be the most productive with most fish being caught in the same areas. Well the 1st of June started out soggy. I, along with most all the captains had to cancel due to the fact that it rained and lightened most of the day. The rest of the week was beautiful. None of my clients this week wanted to Tarpon fish, so I stayed inshore most of the week, but the reports I'm getting are still saying that the tarpon bite is remaining strong
