Anna Maria Island Fishing Charters April 10th-30th 2017 Report

Feels like Summer is right around the corner...

Well we went from a late winter, straight to summer like conditions on the water. During this reporting period bait has been sporadic as it is moving around a lot. Some days bait is very plentiful (Picture) other days we are struggling to get enough bait to fish with, but I always find a way to get the job done! The bite has been sporadic as well. The fish right now seem to prefer the top end of the incoming and the beginning of the outgoing tide. We are still catching plenty of fish they are just making me work extra hard and I'm having to travel a little further south. The Snook and Trout bite has been the most productive (Picture) and May marks the close of Snook season until September. The Trout are in good numbers off deeper grass edges near good moving water. The Redfish have picked up this past week and all my trips ended up with some Redfish on the lines (Picture). Tarpon are going to start showing up in good numbers in the next couple of weeks and if Tarpon are your thing then this is the time to go fishing.
