Anna Maria Island Fishing Charters Oct 9th - 23rd Report

Nor'easter...

Well the past two weeks we have seen a persistent 15 knot north-east wind for the past two weeks which has made fishing challenging at times. The wind has made it especially tough sometimes to go and get bait out in the middle of Tampa Bay, as we faced a 3 foot tight chop of waves. Taking that into account fishing has been very productive and some of the days we've had over the past two weeks have been epic. The Trout and Mackerel bite has remained consistent this past month with good numbers of fish in 3 to 5 feet of water on or near larger grass patches. The number of Mackerel have started picking up out off the beach of Anna Maria Island. The Snook bite has definitely picked up over the past two weeks. The Snook seem to be biting the best towards the end and the beginning of the tide cycle. A large number of Snook are starting their winter migration towards the back bays and rivers. The Redfish bite has been hit or miss, but when they are biting its been GAME ON! This past two weeks we have caught well over 150 Redfish. Here's a couple video's from some of the trips (Video 1) (Video 2) (Video 3). As well as some video's, here are a couple pictures from the past two weeks (Picture 1) (Picture 2). As the water temperature continues to drop the fishing will continue to be productive as the fish prepare for the winter conditions that are to come.
