Anna Maria Island Fishing Charters April 4th- 9th Report

Windy Week...

Well just like I said my last report, it was probably going to be a challenging week and it was. Three cold/ cool fronts past through our area in a matter of a week which lead to most of us trying to find places to get out of the wind. Bait was the most difficult part of the week. Bait has been around the Skyway fishing pier, the wind and waves made the ride out there and back a little "sporty" to say the least. The fishing was better later in the day as the water temperature rose with the warming of the sun and the outgoing tide seemed to spark the feeding interest of the fish. The Snook and Trout have remained strong over the past couple weeks as last reported. One of my clients, Roger, managed to catch a nice 37" Snook (see pic) this past week. We lost two other sizable Snook this week that would have definitively been trophies. We also managed to catch some dinner quality Flounder this week. I'm seeing more and more Redfish showing up but the bite still remains tough.
