Anna Maria Island Fishing Charters August 15th - 28th Report

Schools back in session...

This is the time of year when the little ones head back to school and typical we start to slow down, but I've been still pretty busy and the fish have been busy as well. Bait is still plentiful and can be found on almost any grass flat also it can be found out on the beach of Anna Maria Island. The Trout and Snapper bite has been pretty consistent, but some of the days they seem to disappear and then show back up the next day. In the last two weeks we have caught numerous Trout over 20", which are big Trout for our area. The Snook bite has been good as long as the tide is moving. We are not catching any monsters, but we are catching a good number of fish from 20"-25" (Picture 1) (Picture 2) . We are doing a lot better on Redfish (Picture 1) (Picture 2) (Picture 3) (Picture 4) than earlier in the year, but the fish that we are getting are not hanging around for long. Most of the Redfish that we have been catching have not stayed in the same place for longer than three days, they still haven't settled into their fall time pattern quite yet, but its coming.
